Here's another new piece I drew, inspired by Playdead's XBLA game, Limbo.
I wanted to feature the sister that the little boy is looking for because she's not seen in the game all that much, so I drew what I think she'd do in Limbo when she thinks she's alone.
For anyone who doesn't own an Xbox 360, get one and get this game!!

Limbo Fan Art
Here's something I sketched based on Playdead's 'Limbo' in my notepad. I absolutely love the art style in this game.
If you haven't already, and you own an XBOX 360, go and buy Limbo now! Fantastic game. Anyone can enjoy it.
His head looks a little strange, but I think it's the eyes that count :D |

Lomography
I went out with my plastic camera with a 120 roll to the Botanic Gardens and got these shots back. I love how vivid the colour is!! And of course, the classic vignette and light leak. Love it!
I can't remember who sculpted this. It's beautiful. If anyone knows, please let me know :) |
I really liked the way there were three different colours of trees with an opening to an azure sky. Shame this one went out of focus really. |
I really liked the contrast of colours in this one. |
35mm Photographs
These are some pictures I got with my Fujica AZ-1 that my Granddad kindly gave to me.

I've never seen my dog looking so depressed... |

Cardea (Short Film)
Cardea (Experimental Short Film) - By Ben M R Hall from Ben Hall on Vimeo.
If you'd like a free copy of the DVD and/or Soundtrack just email me at benmrhall@gmail.com and I'll get one out to you as soon as I can :)
This short film is an abstract representation of my views on conformity. I was inspired by seeing how people behave around one another and how everyone, typically, at some stage, will conform to be accepted. It's an issue I think about often. I really wanted to make a film to convey the message that so long as you're comfortable in your own skin, the desire to be accepted is lessened and you’re content to be yourself. I wanted the film to remain open somewhat so that the viewer can draw their own conclusions from the piece and, hopefully, provoke thought and interpretation.
I liked exploring the use of colour to tell a story, as there is no dialogue in the piece at all, and for the soundtrack to compliment in the images onscreen. The soundtrack is my own composition and is designed to reflect what is happening and the stages of self discovery the girl is going though.

Cardea Concept Art (Short Film)
Here's some concept art for Cardea (my short film)
When I first came up with the film idea, I just had a single image of a girl stood in front of a large mirror in the middle of a field in black and white, but the reflection was in colour. I thought of this when I think about how people are rarely satisfied with their life how it is, or their current situation, therefore try to change it by changing themselves to be someone else.
The images here are the first things I drew to get a general idea of location and setting.

The initial idea was to have a mirror, but then it changed to a door. |
This is the character walking through a field with a path down the middle. |
This was to be the character's favourite place to be. Where she didn't mind being alone. |
This picture started off as a mirror, but then I just added a doorknob! |
